No LOLmas I'm not, other than thinking this is them employing a gimmick as a means to eek a bit more money. Like the OS waiting list stuff, but that's standard dayer these days unfortunately.

What drew you to this thread out of interest, was it my name as its not about cricket, or rugby and you only come on the OS thread to post at me, assume this is the same?

Re: The 'Final 3'
I admire you for sticking up for the little guy in all this Johnson, and not simply using it to take potshots at the club.

Again.

That isn't what you're doing here is it? Using it to take potshots at the club?

Again?

Yes I know, 'croe.

There is, it's called a season ticket.

Johnson 8:15 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
There isn't a problem, just talking about how it could have been done differently.

When has the club ever pushed the purchase of memberships in the last quarter of the season though? It's the second line of the entry on the website, they're not even being subtle.

East Auckland Hammer 8:14 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
Exactly One Mc.

You sign up knowing full well that you ONLY get priority over the general public.

You want more rights? Buy a season ticket.

One McAvennieeeeee 8:13 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
What money are they making? A membership doesn't guarantee you anything though. It doesn't matter how many times you go.

They're only going to be on sale to members. I can't quite see the problem.

Johnson 8:12 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
I know it isn't 'Croe but maybe they should have.

Johnson 8:11 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
I said its not the same thing, but if you're a member who's spent time getting tickets for all season following a process and the club then change that process they might have some pissed off members.

Therefore they've annoyed folk again just to make money. I'm not annoyed, but I can imagine some would be.

Other than protecting their bullshit website and greed there wasn't much need to do this really. Nothing wrong with the current process (shit website aside).

East Auckland Hammer 8:09 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
Exactly my point Johnson.

Loyalty is very subjective. How can they possibly be fair to everyone by introducing some arbitrary measure of loyalty now, when they only current qualification for being able to access tickets as a member is paying your membership fee?

They are rewarding ALL paid members with the chance to get tickets.

It dosen't remotely apply to you LomARSE so be quiet.

Re: The 'Final 3'
"They are not rewarding the loyalty of people who have attended multiple games"

Has never been part of the deal with a membership

Lee Trundle 8:06 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
I don't understand why anyone would begrudge any West Ham United fan that wants to attend one of the last games they'll get to see at Upton Park. This will give them that chance.

More memberships and more revenue should be seen as a good thing for the club.

East Auckland Hammer 8:06 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
As for them making more money through it, fair enough, they're not a charity.

One McAvennieeeeee 8:05 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
I can't see how this can be likened to non season ticket holders going before current season ticket holders at the OS.

Actually it can't. Not even close.

Johnson 8:04 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
They are not rewarding the loyalty of people who have attended multiple games and are allowing any cunt, touts etc an equal opportunity from right now.

This wasn't advertised at the start of the season, why not if it's such a fair process?

I'm not having an argument with you on the definition of loyalty as it is;

A) Very subjective
B) Something you know nothing about

East Auckland Hammer 8:01 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
And they ARE rewarding loyalty Johnson.

They're rewarding the loyalty of ALL the people who sign up as members.

Sure, there are going to be some people who sign up now just to qualify, but the same thing can happen at any other time of the season too.

If people want to be rewarded for their loyalty, they need to get a season ticket. They know that when they sign up.

Say I go to 10 games this season as a member, and you go to one game as a member each season for the last 9 seasons.

Who's more "loyal"?

Sarge 7:55 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
Seems fair enough - I'd row in with the comment that they ought to stop accepting memberships now they've announced this - but this is fair enough.

Its certainly fairer than the 'final 4' season tickets that they put on sale allowing people like me the chance to jump the queue for play off tickets.

This season I've got membership for my son and I - Palace may well be our last time at UP together - hopefully Sarge jr will get his vizog in the programme as it's his birthday later in the month.

Fingers x'd I can get in for Man u and Swansea (as well as Watford when the tickets come back out for that)

Johnson 7:53 Mon Mar 7
Re: The 'Final 3'
Charlie - They are doing it to spin up some extra revenue from people buying memberships, not to be fair to existing members otherwise they would have cut it off. I doubt they've sold many memberships after Xmas in previous years.

Grumpster 12:16 Mon Mar 7

Nice to read a comment from somebody that:-

a) doesn't suffer from a sense of entitlement.

b) doesn't think that their opinion is more important than other people's, (or the club's come to that).

Most refreshing amongst the endless moaning from the usual suspects.
